boooooooooo-yaaaaaaaaaaaa

I ran 20 miles yesterday. My house to cacklefresh to Crouching Lion and back to my house. It was awesome.
I was going to take a different route, but when I woke up that morning...it just didn't feel right. So, I opted for staying closer to home. If it's hard to imagine how long 20 miles is....think of it this way.1. My house to Windward mallor2. My house to Matsumotos
Those were the routes I was thinking of running, but like I said...it just didn't feel right.
And today, I'm not very sore. Except for the mastitis that I woke up with this morning, which gives bad body aches and flu like symptoms. I guess that's what happens when you run for 4 hours in a wet sweaty sports bra.
But, I'm pretty excited and I feel like I could definately run an extra 6 miles 3 weeks from now. It's crazy. My sister once dated a guy who ran 20 miles a few times a month...and I thought, "Why in the world...how in the world? would anyone be able to run that far???" And yesterday I did it. Thanks to my sweet husband who stayed at home with the kiddos for 4 hours. Who's husband is willing to watch the kids for 4 hours at a time while the wife worksout? How awesome is that?! Thanks babe. 3 more weeks to go.
Oh! And the most awesome thing. I woke up this morning and was wandering around the house and my husband said, "Whoa, babe. Your legs look totally skinny." So I got out the tape meausre and sure enough...My theighs have lost a whole 1 1/4 inch since Oct 24. Amazing.

Back in the saddle again

So, I was out of work-out commission for about 2 weeks thanks to the NASTY sinus infection...or whatever...that plagued me. My headaches were terrible and there was no way I could run. Too dizzy, and my head was already pounding without the added jostling of jogging.

I was bummed because in my schedule I was supposed to run 15 miles...and I was really looking forward to the new challenge.

So this week I ran 3 miles on Tuesday, (it about killed me). And again on Thursday (was challenging to find the motivation, but once I got going it was pretty easy). I think I skipped Wednesday because it just really didn't fit into my time budget that day.

But today I ran 10 MILES! Woo hoo. I am getting back in the game. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust my training schedule since I missed out 2 whole weeks.

Anyway, I really gotta start watching what I am eating I have been TERRIBLE these past few weeks. I cut myself way too much slack since I was sick...not very smart.

So, starting tomorrow it's back to healthy food, counting cals, and 1-2 hours exercise a day till Thanksgiving. My goal is to loose another 1/2 inch off hips and thighs by then. Wish me luck! ;-0)

Something else to try

Since I"m still not feeling 100% (and this morning I feel like I am coming down with round 2 of what i just went through...sore throat, coughing, yadda yadda) I am really into these 20 minute workouts on hulu. Here is another yoga/pilates one

And here is one that is just pilates. For those of you who have never done pilates....I LOVE IT. I used to take a class once a day for a month when I was young and unemployed. And it did soooo much for my posture and just how I felt everyday. I just felt stronger all around. I totally suggest trying to do this workout 3 days a week for a month and see how you start to feel.

And those of you who want to mix up cardio with your yoga...here you go. ;-)

Did you try it?

So, I did that video yesterday and supposedly it's supposed to work your hips, butt and theighs....and let me tell ya. My hips butt and theighs were sore today, so I'd say it delivered. There are several other fitness videos I like on hulu. I'll tell you about them soon. For now i oughta get to my dishes.

Hmmmmmmm.....

Apparently according to my ticker I should be a P90X grad by now... But...

We accidentally did 1 too many weeks in the 1st phase
In the 2nd phase Jonathon was sick a whole week, so I did an extra week the 2nd phase as well
In the 3rd phase I have been sick for the past week+ so I plan to do 3 more weeks once I start feeling better.

My kids have shared there terrible cold with me. The good news is that I now have a little more patience and empathy for them when they have a runny nose. Being sick is the pits. I have had the most terrible headache for over a week, and haven't been able to taste food since last Thursday. You'd think that not being able to taste food would be a blessing. But for me it is a curse. I crave food all day long now because I never feel satisfied when I get to eat. I don't get to enjoy my meals like I used to. So, I think I end up eating more hoping that I might be able to taste just 1 bite.

So, sadly enough I was supposed to run 15 miles last saturday, but couldn't thanks to this nasty sore throat, headache, bugary nose, evil bug that has zapped all my energy...thanks.

And since I don't get to exercise I am Miss Grumpy Pants herself. I can't handle going more than 3, 4 days tops without exercising. I feel yucky and in turn start to act yucky... sorry family.

But today, I looked up hulu.com and found this beautiful piece of work. It's only 20 minutes, and I really like yoga. It works your muscles well, breaks you out in a small sweat, and gives you a nice stretch. He doesn't hold the poses for very long...but hey. He's trying to pack a 45 minute workout into 20 minutes, and I'd say he does a pretty good job.

Have 20 minutes to spare right now? Give it a try.

Okay...I took 'em

The 60 day photos. I wasn't very excited to take them.. I was feeling rather, fat tonight. It's crazy how those extra treats here and there add up. I've cut myself a little too much slack since I was doing so much running, but I guess I need to tighten down the reins this last 30 days.

But, somehow there is still a difference....It's crazy, and kinda funny. Remember how when I took my 30 day photos I said, "It looks like me and my chubby sister." Well, this time when I put the 3 different photos side by side it looks like: my chubby sister, my sister who is trying to be fit like me, and me. ;-)
The cool thing is that I can tell I am definately getting stronger. I don't have to do push-ups on my knees anymore. I can do 10 or 12 regular ones before dropping to my knees. It's awesome.

And as far as running these days, I am thinking of changing my running plan to the increased mileage. Now that I have ran 10 miles I am not so scared of a weekly 6 mile run. So, I'll be giving Hal Higdon's plan a try this week, (shout out to my friend Echo who suggested this plan...thanks Ech!)

okay, so here they are in all their fleshy glory... my 60 day photos.

Did you happen to see...?

If you were at BYUH last night around 10:45 PM you may have seen a sweaty lady running around high fiving leaves on trees, punching the air, mouthing the words to this song, and fighting back the desire to shout to every passing pedestrian and car "I JUST RAN 10 MILES!!! Booo yaaa!"

It's funny that it was soooo exciting for me, because a marathon is 26 plus miles....so 10 in comparison to that is measly. But, I am glad that for a moment I was able to revel in my accomplishment...and just think how excited I'll be when I finish that 26.3 (or whatever) miles. ;-)

Thank you Thank you

So, do you know who's husband...

1. Spent 40 minutes putting new music on my Zune tonight?

2. Baby-sat the 2 kids while I ran 8 miles

3. Promised he'd give me my choice of a back/foot rub or $20 when I got home in order to motivate me to get out the door?

Mine! ;-) Thanks babe. You are my #1 supporter. I'm so lucky to have you.

And yes, I did run that 8 miles. And I was so excited after I was done I even ran a little bonus .25 miles with high knees. ;-)

It was tuff though. I was supposed to go this morning with a friend. But I have been suffering from insamnia, plus 2 sick kids, and last night I felt like I was getting sick cause I kept gagging on flem. Yes...gross, but true. So basically I maybe slept 3 hours last night.

So, at 5:50 this morning I texted friend, "Long night. Not much sleep. Wanna go later?" To which she quickly replied, Same here. Talk to you later.

But come later, it didn't work out for us both together. So I headed to the school track. 1 time around = .75 miles. So I ran it 11 and a half times. I ran and I ran and I ran. I didn't stop except for a quick water break and a few times I had to walk a moment cause my legs would suddenly turn to jello.

Laps 1-6 feeling great not a problem

7-8 knees start hurtint and hips a little

9- hips starting to hurt a lot

10-toes oddly start tingling

11-feeling pretty good, change song and sprint to the end!

It took an hour and a half. Not the best of times...But I did it! I can't believe I will one day run 18 miles more than that....eeeeeek. But, I think I can do this. I think I can I think I can. Especially with my supportive husband...how could I not?

Now, the big decision. $20 or a footrub....hmmmm

On losing 10 pounds...

So, I told you the scale was stuck at 150 right? And that is true. But what i didn't tell you was that the scale started hiking...and hiking...and hiking. It stopped at 160. That's why I decided to try out this Somersizing diet. And it's been a week and I am back to 150.

That could be for a variety of reasons, one being the increased cardio thanks to my marathon training 4 days a week.

But, it's sure nice to step on a scale and see 150 again. Now, if I get down 5 more pounds in the next few weeks I will be a believer in this diet.

Now i know 10 pounds is a lot of weight for a one week period. I am sure a lot of weight was probably water, but whatever the reason for this weight gain, I hope it doesn't come back.

And as for this new diet, the food recipes in the back are AMAZING. But I haven't really had a chance to try any of them. I am hoping next week to give them a try when I get a little more organized in my kitchen and get my fridge put back together. Most my food is still at my neighbors.

Anyway, that's my report today.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

It's not that bad

So, this new diet really isn't that bad. It was a little challenging yesterday, and at a few points I was even thinking.... "Okay, this just won't work for a nursing Momma. I am starving, and I don't get to eat for another hour? Hello!!"

Today, I made a few adjustments and thought a little more about how to schedule my meals and it is soooo much easier.

Yesterday I had some fruit in the morning, so I had to wait 3 hours before switching to proteins. Bad news was that I could eat proteins at noon, but I had to head to the airport at 11:30.

So, I packed me some cubes of cheese and a few slices of turkey. After running friends to the airport I went to costco and had the chicken ceasar salad. It was fun to eat it, cause normally the dressing is something I would only allow myself on saturdays.

It kind of sucked to walk through Costco and not be able to eat the samples because they were carbs...but honestly if I was only allowing sweets on weekends I wouldn't be allowed to eat chocolate pudding or sesame chips anyway...right?

I didn't pack any water on yesterdays excusrion which made matters worse.

Anyway, dinner was delicious. Roasted Chicken with roasted veggies and feta cheese sprinkled over top. I made barley for Jonathon and Eden so that they wouldn't suffer from my lack of no carbos.

But, today has been quite delightful. No starving, and it's hard to believe that in 10 minutes I am allowed to eat fruit again...even though I ate a HUGE fruit smoothie this morning.

I think anytime you try to change your diet up, it's a challenge in the begining trying to find new things to eat that you enjoy. But truely this one hasn't been that hard of an adjustment. So far I give this diet a thumbs up.

Now, I just have to wait a few weeks to see if I loose or gain any weight. I am not changing anything I am doing workout wise, so I think this 3 week challenge will be a good test to see if this Somersizing actually works.

If you wanna know what i plan to eat today...here goes.

Breakfast: Fruit smoothie (apple juice, mixed berries, 4 ice cubes, 1/2 apple including skin)
20 minutes later 2 servings oatmeal with skim milk

Noon: 2 eggs, fresh salsa, feta cheese, string cheese

3:00 Half canteloupe, grapes, apple

6:00 Carbo dinner: Probably barley, steamed veggies, cucumber slices, tomato slices, and cooked zucchini (for Jonathon and Eden I'll let them eat last nights left over roasted chicken)

8:00 Kids go to bed, and I should still have enough energy from my carbo dinner to do Plyometrics.

9:00 I will be allowed to have protien again so I will make a recovery protein drink but will have to make it with water since I am not allowed milk with protein. (That rule doesn't make sense to me since there are 8g of protein in a glass of milk...but whatever. I'm just following the rules)

And then, if I want some fruit again before heading to bed...green light! ;-) Isn't that great?

Trying something new

I decided to try a new diet for a little bit. I wanna see how it works. I have been stuck at 150 for a while....that's not unusual for me though. My body likes to be 150. Personally I still want to lose 15 more pounds.

So, I plan to follow this diet for 2 months. But I am going to commit to it for 3 weeks. Anything new is always hard in the begining. So, if I can get past 3 weeks I will stick to it for 2 months and see how much weight I lose.

I will still be working out basically twice a day between marathon training and P90X. So, I imagine this weight we be coming off.

But for 8 weeks (well at least the next 3) it's syonara Free Saturdays... That's going to be tough when my husband eats a nice chocolate candy bar in front of me next saturday and Eden is eating french fries...and jonathon is eating a chocolate sunday from McDonalds...but I imagine it will pay off when I step on the scale and see the pounds coming off again.

If you are interested in trying it too I'd love to help you start....Oh, I forgot to tell you what diet it is. It's Suzanne Somers SOMERSIZING diet. Basically I'll eat what I have always eaten but cut out
avocados
nuts
free saturdays
olives

The only difference with this diet and what I was already doing is food combining.

I will only eat protein and fat together (like Atkins) and carbs with veggies together without any fats, and you eat fruit on an empty stomach. It's a lot of healthy food with a large variety. Once I get down to my goal weight I'll add back nuts, avocados, olives, and free saturdays. Her recipes look delicious, so I'm excited to try this.

A little pep-talk I'll want to remember

Part of training for a marathon is running a 20 mile run...yes 20. I didn't accidentally bump the "0" button. ;-) I only wish that was the case.

But tonight as I was researching marathon training I came across this little pep-talk. And in 13 weeks when I run this 20 mile training run.... I will want to remember this guys words when I start thinking
– I just ran 20 miles.
– Wow, I need to go another 6 miles in the marathon.
– I’m really tired.
– My legs hurt.
– I don’t think I could go another 6 miles.
– What have I gotten myself into?
– I think I’m going to puke.
– I don’t feel ready for the marathon.

And like he says, instead think “I’m done with my training and I’ve gone so far to get here.”

Running begins...2 days ago. ;-)

So, I decided I better get this marathon training started. So, I looked up a schedule and this week I ran 20 minutes wed and 20 minutes this morning. It was beautiful and I felt refreshed as I ran down Kam Highway and watched the sun rise over the ocean. How lucky am I?
So, tomorrow it's 5 miles....wow! Wish me luck! (and Jonathon needs a little luck to since he will be watching the kiddos while I run these 5 miles...who's job is harder? hmmmmm)

Cell phone calorie counter

This is kinda cool. You text "HEALTH" and type "food ____________" and it will send you a text back with how many calories are in a serving of whatever.

It's a free service. (Assuming you get free text) Check it out! ;-) CLICK HERE

I just texted "food canteloupe" and it wrote me back 10 seconds later "32 calories"

Monday, August 17, 2009

Do you know how many calories you should eat to lose weight?

Try this calculator

Been doing a little research lately

Came across this little pop quiz. How is your "portion IQ"? I only got 32 out of 74...I did really well till the bonus round.

Wanna see something cool???

Okay, today marks 30 days. You are supposed to take your photos on day 1, 30, 60 and 90. I wasn't feeling too confident when I first saw the pictures Jonathon took of me tonight, but when I looked at them placed next to the ones from 30 days ago you can definately see a difference.
So, the plan from here is continue free food saturdays. (I might stop free saturdays at day 60...just for the month.) I am excited to see my 60 day photos. The first time we tried to do P90X before i got pregnant with Tex, we only made it to about day 45...I started getting to sick to workout. When I look at other people's P90X before and after photos the biggest changes happen between days 60 and 90.
I am also thinking i will add a cardio workout 3 days a week for 30-40 minutes. I need to start upping my cardio so I am not totally behind when I start training next month for December's Marathon...
Anyway, here is the difference. Feast your eyes on this... Kinda looks like me and my chubbier twin sister. ;-)

Kinda cool huh?

A beginner circuit training program

If you are interested in starting circuit training this looks like a fun workout to start.

For those of you who like to walk

I found this walking guide on prevention.com. It is a power walking schedule and said to help you lose weight 5 times faster. I will probably try this. I thought those of you who enjoy walking might like to try it too. If you try it, let me know what you think.

You will want to read the entire article if you are interested. It explains the schedule and the small "power moves workout" that you complete 3 days a week. Just go to the link above, and click back to see the entire thing.

Needing a little help here

So, I sometimes have a really hard time getting back on track sunday and monday. So I decided to start using this device again that i keep on my fridge. It helps me cut out on the 5 bowls of cereal I crave and makes me think about my food choices.

It works pretty simple. Easier than counting calories or writing down everything you eat. You just check off whatever food group you have eaten. Your goal is to have all boxes checked by the end of the day. IF you happen to eat something not on the list, write it on the side. Then tomorrow... I just do better! ;-) Works like a charm for me, give it a try if you like! ;-)

Just want to say hi to my readers

Hi everyone who reads this...just wanted to say hi and thanks for your comments. About to start my yoga video....90 minutes of yoga...yuck. But I have realized that I just need to just not think about it and just do it. 90 minutes from now it will be over and i will be that much closer to my goal.

Anyway...HI!!!! ;-)

P90X update

Well, I am on day 15ish or something close to that. I skipped the other day cause I fell asleep putting Tex down for the night. So I am making up for it today by doing 2 workout videos. Tex even got in on the action with me doing some sit-ups.

I haven't lost any/much weight since starting P90X...but I think that has to do with the fact that I am not including as much cardio as I was doing the past month while I was in arizona. My sister and I enjoy making fools of ourselves making up water aerobics routines. Before we knew it we had already been working out 40 mintes.

This photo is from probably 6 years ago...but now you have a visual. Anyway, I think I will add the extra cardio in next week...as in one week from next week. :-) P90X actually doesn't suggest any extra working out until you have finished 1 month of training with their program...and I'll take any excuse to not have to work out extra. :-) 1 hour is plenty. But unfortunately for me, it just doesn't seem to do the trick. My body responds to that extra workout and nothing else...and I am ready for a new color t-shirt! I'm thinking hot pink or bright green...hmmm...

P90X Bring it!

Hahaha, for those of you who have done P90X you will know why I said Bring it! Tony is rather quirky, but his workouts are real....and they make you really sore. (if you aren't already in shape...and I'm not)

I started this program yesterday and I am not quitting till my 90 days are over. I took pics last night, but I won't be posting those for 30 days when there is actually something to compare it too. In the meantime just imagine something a little rolly and celulitey...got it? That's me! :-)

In other news I bought myself some motivation while I was gone. I found the PERFECT T -SHIRT at Kohl's. I bought 6 different colors. Each time I lose 5 lbs I get to pick a new color to wear. So far I have a purple and a red one. I am hoping to get the pink or green one next!!! I can't wait!

A good Sunday workout

My sister and I did this workout the other night. It was a lot of fun...and a pretty good workout if you let yourself get into it...best yet, it's only 8 minutes!!!

Give it a try! It's great for a Sunday, you will see what I mean. :-)

A saturday extravaganza

Okay, so I know I have told lots of you about my saturday free day thing. And I don't know if any of you really believe how badly I eat on these saturdays. I definately make up for lost time not eating sweets, fast food, and junk food during the week. But it works for me. Today's indulgences included...but weren't limited to...

Almost 1 whole pint of Haagen Dazs Peanut butter chocolate ice cream (Jonathon had a few bites)

6 or 7 LARGE chocolate chip cookies

3 bowls of frosted mini wheats...with whole milk

Deep fried Coconut shrimp

White rice...I love white rice!

Crunchy McDonalds Ranch snack wrap

1 pluot (had to eat something healthy you know)

fruit snacks

And that is all I can remember right now. Tomorrow it's back to healthy wholesome fuel, so I can get back to my 10 minute training monday (which lasts for 35 minutes)....oh ya! And try to run the remaining 15 miles...woops! Not all saturdays are this bad, some weekends I don't really feel like eating junk at all (especially after I have been working out for a while). But it's nice to know I have the option once a week.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

my new tool

Okay, so far I am 2 for 2 on my new set of workout videos. Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer. I saw this info-mercial...I think while I was in the hospital after having Texton (when else would I have been watching TV?) And I just HAD TO have it. Who wouldn't want to look hot in only 10 minutes a day? It's done by the same guy as P90X. So, it's called the 10 minute trainer and supposedly you can get an amazing body in 10 min a day. But, then when you read the instruction manual to the program...it tells you to complete 2 or 3 videos a day for maximum or optimal results. So, the sad news I realized...there is no easy way to lose weight. You must work your little (or in my case, large) bum off for 20-30 min everyday. It's a four week plan, and they are tough videos. I will definitely have to work up to some of the moves he does.

A pat on my back

So, last night.... I didn't want to run my 2.6 miles for the day (suprise suprise)! But, my loving husband made me (thanks Jonathon). Okay, he didn't push me out the door, but he made me eat the words I said the night before about setting a goal and keeping it. ;-)

So, I strapped on my new runnin' shoes and went for it.

All was going well. My iPod was dead, so I had to borrow Eden's and listen to the one song on there over and over and over again. It was a decent running song at least, with a good tempo for running to.

Then all of a sudden I passed two large trucks, parked one in front of the other on the side of the road. There was about a 3 feet gap between the trucks and two older men (mid 60's, early 70's) were standing nearby with slightly bewildered looks on their faces.

In between these two trucks lay a body....huge body! I was running, it was dark, I was slightly spooked already because I really HATE running at night alone. The lighting on the streets in my neighborhood is poor. But, this definately looked like a naked large cut up body lying in the road between to trucks. It freaked me out. I began running as fast as I could.

When I got home, I told Jonathon about what I had seen, he thought I should call 911 to send the police over to see what was going on....turns out, it was a pig. A really really really big pig. Slightly embarassing. But, glad it wasn't a human.

All the same, I ran my 2.6 miles yesterday! And I give myself a pat on the back, and a tear out of my chubby picture. ;-) Yay!

Monday, June 1, 2009

A running fool

Well, if I am going to accomplish my goal of 50 miles in 50 days I better pick up the pace. So far I think I have ran 10 miles...and I am supposed to be done in 15 days. Whoops! So, that means I'll be running a little over 2miles a day...but don't think I am not going to accomplish this goal...cause I am! ;-) Mmm Hmm...wanna bet?
"Winners must have two things; definite goals and burning desire to achieve them."

My new motivation tool- Try it!

So, you know how when you are trying to lose weight...you sometimes get really annoyed because you feel like you have been working hard and ignoring chocolate for a while but not much seems to be happening? This happens to me often.

So, I have come up with a visual to help remind me that what I am doing does make a difference...though it might just be a small difference. But over-time each of those small differences will add up to something huge.

This is what I did-

I printed a photo of me now,

(Yikes! I know...why I am showing you this? Really embarrassing)

and stapled it on top of a photo of what I would like to look like

So, each time I exercise whether it's an intense work out video or just a walk around the block I take a small tear out of the top paper. And at the end of each day that I don't eat any sweets, I'll take another tear. (Eentsy Teensy tear I am talking here folks). But there is just something so motivating and satisfying about tearing up that embarrassing chubby top photo.

But, eventually the top chubby, celulitey, rolly photo will be torn away to reveal a hot new me underneath. And I imagine by then I should be looking something like this. ;-)

I did it!!

I worked out. ;-) One of my old videos from when I got back into shape after having Eden. I only completed half of it. I didn't want to over-do it, and not want to work out tomorrow. Tonight we are taking "before photos".

I am hoping now that I will get back into the work-out routine since we won't be having any visitors for a while.

I tried really hard not to eat out of boredom today. I did pretty well, but I did have 2 bowls of cereal this afternoon...woops! ;-) I will try to cut those out tomorrow and eat some fruit. We didn't have any fruit in the house today, so I guess I'll be heading to the grocery store tomorrow.

A new Goal...New Motivation!!!

I just looked at my Savers coupons. My coupon for the month of July is, "Spend $100, get $50 off". So, I have to loose this weight by July 31 and I'm going on a shopping spree. Anyone else in? (Sorry, I only have 1 coupon). My mom might have an extra though... ;-)

I'm melting!

1. I feel like I am melting because of how stinkin' hot it is here lately. But better than that...I HAVE LOST INCHES! I couldn't believe it since it's only been 5 days. But, I am nursing (basically cheating when it comes to weight loss). And I have been committed to my 1 mile a day. I've lost some everywhere, but mostly my waist (3 in) and my hips (1.25 in). I'm so excited! I feel so great.

So, I think I will stick with this 1 mile a day thing for the rest of the week. A friend of mine is training for a marathon, and I am thinking I might join in. What'd'ya thing? I think i'll start training in about 3 more weeks though. I don't want to do too much too quick.

Face the facts (Edited and revised)

One cool thing I think about diet and exercise is that when you start...that is the day you start to control your life! At least that's how I feel about it. When I am not exercising I just always feel "Fat" and out of control. But, as soon as I start exercising and eating well, I know that if nothing else I will at least maintain my current weight....because I am the one in control of what I do with my body and also what I put into it.

So, today I am taking my measurments. My intentions with sharing my measurements with you, are:
A. To show off. Hahahaha, no just kidding.
it is...

1. For me to keep track of my progress and make sure what I am doing is working
2. To help motivate you to keep going in your exercise persuits.

AS for the measurements. I dont mind sharing them (though to be honest it is slightly embarassing)...but I am taking control of my life and the facts are the facts. They shouldn't scare me, cause I am looking forward to seeing these numbers fall and like I said "I am in control" . (Except for the fact that I ate a Cadburry cream egg during my daughters naptime...I'm human. Oh well, each moment of our lives is a moment to make a new choice. Hopefully I make some better ones this afternoon.)

Hope my blog isn't boring or preechy...It's just my thoughts.

Setting Goals

Ok, part one of losing weight is having a plan. Right now my plan is to start simple and set an achievable daily goal.

So...what's your goal? What can you commit to this week? Is it just changing into work out clothes? Walking to your mail-box every day? Think of something that will push you out of your usual work out routine a little...but don't get crazy. We are just on week one.

My goal is to run 1 mile a day and do my "Postnatal Rescue" workout video every other day. It's just a 15 minute routine. Perfect for getting those muscles to recover from pregnancy. Especially your abs. My abs tore apart with Eden. I don't remember the medical term. But there is now a distinct valley between my two abdominal muscles. So, it is very important that I train my stomach muscles slowly and correctly. This video seems to do the trick! If you would like to borrow it...just let me know. Or you can look it up online. It's by Erin O'Brien.

My long term goal is to run 50 miles in 50 days. I'll put a ticker in my side-bar so you can see where I am at.

That reminds me of one more thing. Write down your goal! Put it somewhere that you are going to see. At the end of the week, we are going to grade ourselves on a 1-10. At least I am going to! ;-)

6 weeks ago today....

6 weeks ago today my little guy was born. Oh how I thought the next 6 weeks would never go by (and now how I wish I still had 6 weeks left of eating whatever I want and not feeling bad about it). 6 weeks ago, I couldn't wait to start working out again, and get this extra 40 lbs off asap. I can't believe that today is the end of my resting period and time to get back to work!

So now that my initial motivation has left me, I suppose I will post a few photos of what I hope will soon return! And if you are a Mamma who wants to lose it too, I hope you will join me in this quest!
