Day 10 already?

Wow,

You may think that I fell off the wagon since i haven't posted anything about this since i started. And i kind of wish I would have documented more of my journey. But, each day I felt like there wasn't much to type.

Days 1 and 2 were challenging, because I felt hungry. And the though of carrying this on for 10 days seemed a little daunting. I kept telling myself I could do it, but in the back of my mind I wondered if I'd really make it to the end. I also felt a little fuzzy headed from time to time. It would just be for a few moments, and it wouldn't last much longer than 10 minutes.

For maybe the first 3 days it was also hard to pay attention to details. I would often mis-place things, which was annoying. And I've nocited with my typing that I make more mistakes than usual. And that my fingers can't keep up with my brain at the speed that they used to.

And the rest of the days after that are kind of a blur. It seemed to just get easier from that point. My mind cleared up, the hunger pains went away. I still crave everything uner the sun, but my stomach doesn't feel like I"m starving. Unless, wait too long for another drink.

I think there were a few things that made this cleanse easier.

1. doing it with my husband. We were able to help one another get through our moody spots. We never were really both moody at the same time. So, if he was irritated I could take charge, and when I was moody he'd lovingly send me somewhere to take a break. Plus it's just nice to have someone experiencing what you are.

2. Getting to bed early. We started going to bed earlier since there was no point in staying up late. All we thought about was things we wished we could eat. The sooner we went to bed meant the sooner another day was done. ;-) (also by going to be earlier, we were able to wake up earlier to start our salt water flush. This way we would be done with our morning potty sessions before heading out for the day.)

3. Borrowing a juicer from a friend. We used a manual juice presser thing we bought from Ross for the first 2 days. That was annoying. I think we would have quit if we didn't get to borrow an electric juicer. So, if you decide to do this...do yourself a favor. Get a juicer before you start. It doesn't have to be the big expensive kind. It can probably just be a citrus juicer from wal-mart. We were using a hand press, yuck.

I'm sure there were other things, but that is off the top of my head right now.

We also took our cayenne in shots. We didn't like mixing it in our drink. It was too strong in the beginning. So, instead we would mix up our drink with lemons and syrup, then put cayenne pepper directly in our mouths, and wash it down with a gulp of our lemonade.

We actually really liked doing this cleanse. I am excited to see how I feel once I start eating again. I figure if I have this much energy on a 1000 calorie a day diet, I should feel pretty great once I start puting healthy foods in my body again and exercising. It's been nice to take a week and a half off exercise as well. I am really looking forward to starting again. I may even start today with just 30 minutes, so I can get back in the habit instead of waiting till I a finished.

Even though we are done with the lemonade after today. We still have to drink fresh squeezed orange juice...and nothing else. For a WHOLE DAY AND A HALF! Which is a bummer, cause we are soooo anxious to eat some real food again. The 2nd half of the 13th day you are able to eat a vegetable soup with mostly broth and a few veggies.

Well, my son is ready for breakfast. I better run. I'll talk about weight loss next. There definately has been a lot of that going on. But, I'm trying not to get too excited. As I said before, I imagine a good half of it will be coming back when I start eating. But, I am guessing I lost 8 lbs.

bye for now.

Finishing Day 2

I am sitting here sipping my lemon-aid while watching my daughter eat what looks like the most delicious cheese bread sandwich i have seen in my life.

And tonight I went to a birthday party. Oh how I would have loved to eat 5 slices of the most delicious looking chocolate cake my eyes have ever beheld. Or 3 delicious looking piggy cupcakes. Or helped Eden polish off the bag of candy she gathered from the pinata.

But, in all honesty this isn't that bad. I think I can do ten days. I don't think it will be much fun...but I do feel that it is do-able. I thought I would feel much more tired and sluggish and STARVING, but the lemon-aid sustains you pretty well.

If I go too long without drinking it I get a little crabby, but come back to normal after a few minutes of drinking.

The master Cleanse

I think reviving this old weight-loss blog will help me get through the next 10 days of my life..

I am trying out the Master Cleanse. I wouldn't call it a "diet"...though I do plan on losing some weight since all I will be eating over the next 10 days is lemon water, sweetened with maple syrup, and spiced with Cayenne.

I don't think of it as a diet, because I plan to put a majority of the weight I lose while on this, back. My purpose it to clean out my digestive system and detoxify my body.

Anyway, I'll probably write on this here blog whenever I get the inkling to eat a little something something and I can't think of anything else to do, buy whine about it. ;-)

And I will document my journey...incase you care to know.

Well, I'm off to make another drink!! Cheers!! ;-)
